The training has eight semesters, works on a regular full-time basis and ends with a diploma.
The goal of the health visitor training is to train healthcare professionals with advanced skills who are able to work in the fields of care services for women, mothers, infants, children as well as youth protection and in the field of family care.
During the training, many courses provide the technical knowledge to prepare for the health visitor work. There is a strong emphasis as well on health education and development, mental health and school health education skills.

The strength of the training is that at the external training places there are well-prepared professionals with daily practical experience who help in the professional preparation.
