The University of Szeged Was Ranked the 26th on the Latest QS Ranking

The latest ranking of the best 300 emerging European and central Asian higher educational institutions was published by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The University of Szeged was ranked the 26th, thus being in the best 8 percent of the ranked universities.

British QS evaluates universities from the emerging European countries and from central Asia every year. In 2018 they ranked 450 universities: 10 aspects were taken into account: academic reputation (30%), employer reputation (20%), faculty-student ratio (10%), papers per faculty (10%), citation per paper (5%), academic staff with a PhD degree (5%), web impact (5%), international research network (10%). The ratio of international faculty and the ratio of international students rated 2,5% both of the overall assessment.

The QS list evaluated 14 Hungarian universities, 5 of them made it to the top 50. The second best was the University of Szeged as it was ranked the 26th on the list. Compared to previous years’ results, the University of Szeged improved the reputation of employment, student-teacher ratio while the number of international students is increasing.
